The media-distribution website Crunchyroll has confirmed on Tuesday that it will simulcast the new television anime series Cardfight!! Vanguard. The card-game-based anime will premiere in Japan on January 8. The game is a collaboration between Yu-Gi-Oh! R manga creator Akira Ito, the original Duel Masters technical advisor Satoshi Nakamura, and Bushiroad President Takaaki Kidani.

Hatsuki Tsuji is directing the television series at the anime studio TMS Entertainment. Tsubasa Yonaga stars as the main character Aichi Sendo, and JAM Project (MazinKaiser, Super Robot Wars games and anime) performs the opening theme song "Vanguard."The anime will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
