People all over the world adore Japanese anime filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, and they’ve taken to Twitter to wish the artist a happy 70th birthday. Miyazaki has helped shape the world of anime over the course of his five-decade career and is widely regarded as the Walt Disney of Japan. Some of his more recent works include Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke. In 2001, Miyazaki’s Spirited Away won an Academy Award for best animated feature, the first time an anime film was awarded an Oscar.
