Games, Anime Scores Revealed For A Night In Fantasia Sydney Concert

Posted in : Gossips

(added few years ago!)

As we revealed back in March, the Eminence Symphony Orchestra are playing in Sydney on September 26. But what exactly will they be playing?

Dubbed A Night In Fantasia 2009, the concert promises a “mind-blowing choir”, some “special guest performers” from Japan and the US, and “a score of popular tracks from the worlds of video games and anime”.

Those video games include AFRIKA, Ace Combat V, Darksiders: Wrath of War, Dragon Age: Origins, Metal Gear Solid, Prince of Persia, Red Alert 3 and Shadow of the Colossus. While those anime include Astro Boy, My Neighbour Totoro, Laputa, Princess Mononoke, Deathnote, Steamboy and the obligatory “many, many more”.

Eminence is a Sydney-based orchestra and audio production company. They’ve toured the world, worked on the soundtrack to Diablo III and even released a record solely consisting of the music from Blizzard games. Their 2005 performance of Final Fantasy VII “One Winged Angel” (filmed at Sydney’s Town Hall and seen below) has just passed three million views on Youtube. They know their games music. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, August 4, from Ticketmaster and are priced from $75 - $95.
